District speech was an eventful day, with all three students placing! Brenna received 4th in Humorous, Ally placed 3rd in Informative, and Elijah placed 2nd in Humorous and 3rd in Poetry! Both Ally and Elijah punched their tickets to state speech! We are so proud of all of them! Small but mighty!


FFA Students have been on the road this week! Students went to District CDEs in Norfolk, NE on Monday to compete in Food Science, Floriculture, Ag. Technology & Mechanics, Welding, Livestock Management and Environmental Science. Freshman students then competed today at the Frontier County Invitational in Food Science, Meat Science and Floriculture. Our Welding team will be heading to Beloit, KS on Thursday to compete at the NCK MIG Welding Competition. A huge thank you to ALL our sponsors and supporters which allows our chapter to provide these opportunities to our students!




There will be NO After School Enrichment on Thursday, March 3rd and on Thursday, March 9th.

There will be an additional K-6 wrestling practice tomorrow, the 28th, from 5:30-6:30PM in the elementary gym. There will still be practice on Thursday from 4:30-5:30 as well.

Starting Monday, February 27 Keya Paha County Schools will extend the school day to 3:40 to recoup hours lost during snow days. Elementary will continue to be dismissed at 3:30. In addition classes will be held for grades 7-12 on March 13 and be dismissed at 2:00 so everybody can attend Parent/Teacher conferences. The elementary will have no school on March 13. These charges are to make sure students meet the minimum number of instructional hours required by law.

Track will start Monday the 27th. Practice will be in Bassett. This is for HS track kids only! Boys basketball players and Wrestlers going out for track YOU will start at a later date!!

There will be a parent athlete meeting for any Springview JH student who is interested in track on Monday, February 27th at 6:30 pm. This meeting will take place at the High School in Springview! K-6 wrestling will have practice on 2/23 and 3/2 from 4:30-5:30. Attached is information on a beginner’s wrestling tournament that will be held in O’Neill on March 3rd. If you would like to bring your child, coaches will be there to help coach, however you must register and transport your own child. The beginner tournament on March 3rd will conclude the K-6 wrestling season.
